As a part of a recent masters degree undertaken during lockdown at the University of York, I studied my house in the Dordogne region in France. Through the creation of this house’s bibliography, I was able to not only examine how the social changes were reflected in the earth, stone and timber, but how these changes reflected changes in the life of the local craftsperson.
